About the choir

The Celebration Singers are led by Eric Hewes who is a notable organist & choirmaster and are accompanied by David Sample of Northstead Methodist Church (piano/organ). We are an ecumenical choir drawing singers from a number of different churches and none- the choir is an offspring of the former Gala Choir of Leslie Sturdy fame.

Our repertoire is wide-ranging from sacred to folk, spirituals to popular items. We have performed pieces by a range of well known composers, such as John Rutter, Edward Elgar, Sir Arthur Sullivan and more modern pieces by Lloyd Webber and other items from the shows, all tailored to fit the occasion whether it be a special church service or a more informal venue. We do collaborate with other choirs and instrumentalists, making for exciting and varied performances.

We perform at a variety of local churches and concert venues in and around Scarborough. Our performances are always well-attended and highly appreciated by audiences. We have a great sense of camaraderie among members, and we are proud to put our own unique spin on songs.

If you are looking for an enjoyable and diverse musical experience, look no further than the Celebration Singers. We are sure to be able to provide a memorable performance that you won't soon forget.
